School PA Systems · Perth

PA & bell systems
that actually go.

PA, paging and speech systems for Perth primary, secondary and independent schools — installed and serviced by people who work around your term dates, not theirs.

What schools actually need

Built around how a school runs.

Not a generic amplifier-and-four-speakers job. A working school PA has to cover the rooms teachers use every day, the oval on sports days, the front office on a wet morning, and the assembly on Friday — without anyone having to learn a new piece of software.

The basics

Classroom & corridor speech

Ceiling and wall-mount speakers zoned by building and wing, so admin can page a single block or the whole school without shouting down the corridor.

The oval

Horn speakers for sports

Outdoor horn speakers covering the oval, basketball courts and hardcourts — speech intelligible at 60 metres, music that survives a cross-country.

The front office

Paging & desk console

A paging microphone at reception so admin staff can address any zone in one press — with a labelled, lockable head-end rack behind it.

Period change

Bell & tone scheduling

Period-change bells, end-of-day tones and ad-hoc announcements scheduled by zone, with overrides for assemblies, exams and wet-weather days.

Compliance

Hearing augmentation

Assistive-listening provision — hearing loops and infrared — for assembly halls, staff rooms and any learning space where it's required in WA school venues.

Safety

Lockdown & emergency tones

Lockdown, evacuation and all-clear tones wired into the head-end so a single console action broadcasts campus-wide — tested with your operations team, not just left on a list.

Three jobs, one contractor

New install. Service. Upgrade.

Schools call us for three reasons — and the right answer depends on which one you're in.

New install. New build or refurb. We work from the architect's services drawings, spec the rack, zones and cabling, and install to a handover date that lines up with your term calendar.

Service. Existing PA left you by a tradie who's moved on, a bell schedule that nobody can change, a paging mic that crackles. We diagnose, document what's there and get it back under control — fast, especially during term time.

Upgrade. An old 100V-line system still wired through every classroom, but tired. We can move to a zoned IP-based head-end without ripping out the cable plant — reusing what's still good, replacing what isn't.

See how this fits with our broader commercial and education AV work and our classroom and hall AV service lane.

How we work with schools

Walk-through, scope, install, support.

The same four-step shape every time, sized to your school — not a sales deck.

1. Site walk-through

We come out, look at the buildings, listen to the current system and map zones across a school plan. You'll get a written scope with what we're proposing, why, and what's not in it. No surprises.

2. Install scheduled to your calendar

Larger work goes into school holidays where possible. Term-time work is planned around class changes and assemblies so lessons keep running. We coordinate with your operations team, not past them.

3. Handover that's actually useful

Plain-English training for admin staff — how to page a zone, change the bell schedule, fire a lockdown tone. Labelled racks, a documented bell calendar, and quick-start guides via QR code on the head-end door.

4. Fast response when something fails

Term-time service calls get priority. The assembly mic that dies at 8:45am is the kind of problem we answer the phone for. Owner on the tools, not a call centre relay.

Why schools choose HFAV

Theatre-grade audio, applied to speech.

Track record

Real WA project experience

PA and paging systems installed and serviced in Perth schools and campuses — not theoretical. See the recent work page for installs you can look at.

Approach

Speech intelligibility first

We come from theatre and live production, so we know what an unintelligible PA sounds like at the back of the room. Speaker placement, zoning and EQ get the same attention we'd give a stage rig.

Accountability

Owner-operated

One point of contact from the walk-through to the handover. The person quoting the job is the person installing it and the person answering the phone when something fails.

Scope

Education sector focus

Public, independent and Catholic education — we know the procurement reality, the term dates and the difference between a 90-minute period change and a 5-minute one.

FAQ

Straight answers.

How much does a school PA system cost in Perth?

It depends on building size, zone count, speaker type (100V line ceiling vs horn for ovals), existing cabling and whether bells, paging and emergency tones are integrated. A small primary is a very different job to a secondary campus with multiple buildings — we quote after a site walk-through, no guesswork.

Can you integrate bells with our existing system?

Usually yes. Most bell and tone systems can be tied into an existing PA head-end, scheduled by zone and run from a paging console. We'll confirm what's compatible on the walk-through and document the new bell schedule for admin staff.

Do you service schools outside your install area?

We service across Perth metro and surrounds, prioritising term-time response. For one-off fault calls outside that radius we'll be honest on the phone about response time — we don't take on servicing work we can't back up.

Can you work during term time?

Yes. Most diagnostic and bell-integration work happens during term time with minimal classroom disruption. Larger install or upgrade work is scheduled into school holidays where possible — we'll plan the cutover with your operations team ahead of time.
